CRL IRL: Olympics Withdrawal? Lake Placid Can Help

Somehow, 17 days are never quite enough when it comes to the Olympic Games.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve become so much more interested in sports, and my appreciation for watching the Olympics every two years has evolved into an especially meaningful experience. From the electricity I feel being amongst super fans and their friends and family, to the strong community vibes I feel as we all cheer on the wins or nurse the disappointments that come with each loss or missed goal, there’s nothing quite like people coming together for sports, and ultimately, for each other. Especially during the Olympics.

So you can imagine, now that the 2026 Winter Olympics are over, I’m going through a bit of a withdrawal period. And as a salve to my athletic hangover, I decided to take a trip up to Lake Placid to live out a few of my gold medal fantasies on a tour of the region’s Olympic Legacy Sites.
