At least at this Hotel California listening party, you’ll definitely need to check in, but you might never want to leave. Chuck Vosganian, president of the popular Rochmon Record Club, will be hosting an in-depth presentation on the Eagles’ legendary 1976 album on Thursday, April 29 at 6:30pm, live at The Park Theater in Glens Falls.
For those of you who’ve never listened to PYX 106 (of which we will guess there are few), Hotel California is both the Eagles’ best-known and -selling album of all time, and marks the first one to feature guitar god Joe Walsh. With the James Gang vet turning his amp up to 11, the once peaceful-easy-feeling Eagles rock a little bit harder on the album, as is evidenced by title-track “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane.”
The listening party begins at 7pm, with a live audio and video presentation by Vosganian, informing and deepening the audience’s understanding of the history of the individual performers, the songs and the stories that made this iconic album what it is today.
The Park Theater kitchen will be open for light food and drinks. Tickets are available here.
