This year, The Sagamore Resort asserted its Bestie dominance not only by winning the Getaway Hotel/Resort/Inn category, but by also coming in atop the Local Hotel/Resort Inn category. And that, 518ers, is the beauty of this mansion on a private island: It’s close enough to the Capital Region to make it an easy weekend trip, but just far enough away to make you feel like you’re on a proper vacation.
And soon, there could be even more to love about The Sagamore. Plans have been filed with the Town of Bolton’s Planning Department for the construction of Nirvana Farm—three townhomes housing 18 two- and three-bedroom suites—on the mainland. Amenities will include a private beach and swimming pool, with rates expected to be around $1,500 a night during shoulder seasons and $3,000 a night during the summer.

For years, Gore Mountain’s unofficial slogan has been “More Gore.” And that’s exactly what skiers and riders got this winter when a new lodge opened its doors at the Ski Bowl.
Clocking in at 18,000 square feet, The Station, as the new lodge is called, boasts plenty of room for skiers and riders to suit up, plus an expansive patio, an onsite store, and Timber & Thyme, a full-service restaurant and bar.
“We are very excited to have The Station open to our guests,” says Ian Tomasch, Gore’s sales and marketing manager. “The addition of this new lodge, along with the restaurant and retail shop included inside, is one of the many steps we are taking to transform Gore Mountain and the North Creek Ski Bowl into a year-round destination for both our local community and tourists alike.”
