NewsChannel 13’s Subrina Dhammi Becoming Evening Anchor

Dhammi has served as co-anchor for the channel's 'Morning Show' for nearly a decade.

One of the area’s most popular news anchors is switching from the breakfast to the dinnertime crowd. Subrina Dhammi, who has served as one of WNYT NewsChannel 13’s Morning Show co-anchors for nearly a decade, will now be co-anchoring the evening hour broadcasts.

Beginning on June 23, Dhammi will join Jerry Gretzinger on Live at 4 and Mark Mulholland on Live at 6, a position most recently held by veteran news anchor and reporter Benita Zahn, who left the station after more than 40 years to become a full-time health coach.

“I can’t say enough about the Morning Team we have in place—Neal [Estano], Sam [Hesler], Emily [De Vito], Paulina [Bucka], Christina [Talamo] and our producers and directors are all amazing and extremely dedicated,” Dhammi said in a post on her social media this morning. “It has truly been an honor waking up with you all each morning for nearly a decade. I’m excited to now join you at dinner time.”

Dhammi has been with NewsChannel 13 since June 2005, two weeks after graduating from Syracuse University. First serving as the Berkshire County news chief, Dhammi went on cover Berkshire County and Bennington County, and after a single year on the job, moved to the main station in Albany where she became a reporter and fill-in anchor. Dhammi eventually landed a permanent anchor role in 2010 for the Live at Noon broadcast, and in 2012, became co-anchor of the Morning Show.
