This Trotelle a la Canali recipe comes courtesy of Canali’s Italian & American Restaurant in Schenectady.
- 3 tbs olive oil
- 3 tbs diced onion
- 1 tsp fresh minced garlic
- 1/4 cup sliced roasted peppers
- 1/4 cup hot – loose Italian sausage (cooked into mini meatball shape)*
- 1/4 cup marinara
- 1/4 cup cream
- Grated romano cheese
- 1/4 cup vodka
- Lensi Organic Trottole pasta
*form loose sausage into mini meatballs and precook(bake)
Sautee onion & garlic in oil then add roasted peppers and sausage. De-glaze off heat with 1/4 cup vodka. Put back on the heat and stir in marinara & cream. Toss over cooked pasta. Sprinkle with grated romano cheese & enjoy!
