CRL Recipes Series: Canali’s Italian & American Restaurant’s ‘Trotolle a la Canali’

Make this delicious pasta dish from the Schenectady Italian restaurant in the comfort of your own kitchen.

This Trotelle a la Canali recipe comes courtesy of Canali’s Italian & American Restaurant in Schenectady.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbs olive oil
  • 3 tbs diced onion
  • 1 tsp fresh minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup sliced roasted peppers
  • 1/4 cup hot – loose Italian sausage (cooked into mini meatball shape)*
  • 1/4 cup marinara
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • Grated romano cheese
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • Lensi Organic Trottole pasta

*form loose sausage into mini meatballs and precook(bake)

Directions
Sautee onion & garlic in oil then add roasted peppers and sausage. De-glaze off heat with 1/4 cup vodka.  Put back on the heat and stir in marinara & cream.  Toss over cooked pasta.  Sprinkle with grated romano cheese & enjoy!
